My name is KIM DA EUN, and you may call me Beryl. I’m from South Korea. I would like to become a flight attendant, so studying English is important for my career growth.
English Learning System
I like Pines English learning system especially its 1 on 1 classes. Through these classes, I have improved my pronunciation because the drills are designed by my teachers, and I will never learn this in Korea.
My Pines teachers are very kind, friendly and professional. They always give their best to deliver good and helpful classes. Even though I spoke slowly, they understood, waited, and corrected my pronunciation and sentence structures. I used to talk to them every break time, and I enjoyed every minute of it. They helped me develop my self-confidence. Although I was shy around strangers, I could easily approach them now because my teachers trained me well to communicate with them. Actually, they are the main reason why I extended.
I like discussion classes like “speak zone”, “Think Aloud” and “Let’s talk about”. Actually, I was afraid of speaking English to foreigners. However, my teachers lead me well so I could overcome. Without these classes, I would still be afraid to speak English. Now, I can speak my opinion clearly and I enjoy it.
How do you start your day in Pines?
I believe that having enough sleep makes me perform better in classes, so I usually wake up at 8:25 am.
Best part of my stay in Baguio City
I was told that Philippines is a dangerous country. However, after coming here, I have totally changed my mind. I like how kind the people are, and I enjoy staring at the beautiful sky. It is far from the impression that I got before traveling. The best part is I have a lot of opportunities to practice English speaking in and out of the academy. I made friends with foreigners. We studied together and naturally hit it off.
Pines Academy has strict policies and following them would lead to ensured English Skills improvement. I think these policies are necessary for students’ development. I learned not only about the English language but also how to interact with people. I realized that studying English abroad gives you a wider perspective about the world. Look at me now~ I have developed my self-confidence and English skills that would be necessary in becoming flight attendant. If I have a chance to come here again, I will come back. Thank you so much everyone 🙂
