Hi~ I am Andy ^^~
I work for a Technological Company, and I have to communicate with many US clients daily. I do not speak and write well in English. I need to improve my English skills, so I came here.
How did you know about learning English in the Philippines?
I frequently watch “Mornings with Tony”, a popular Youtube Channel in Vietnam. He said a lot about studying in the Philippines, so I started searching for schools in the Philippines, and when I saw the Pines Website, everybody seemed interested in this school. Pines has a good atmosphere, and the weather is great (in Baguio City). I think studying here is suitable for me.
Semi-Spartan Program Lifestyle
On Weekdays, I study in the daytime and could go out after the regular class sessions, but I need to return to the campus before 10 pm. Students could hang out with friends and walk around the campus if they opt not to have option classes.
On the weekends, we usually go to the SM Mall. It has a lot of stores with reasonably priced products. If you want to enjoy the night, you could also go clubbing and have fun.
Why did you choose the ESL (Power Speaking) Course?
I chose (the) ESL course for three months because I want to improve my communication skills. The course helps me focus on improving my speaking(using idioms and daily expressions), writing, and listening.
Pines teachers are very kind. They help me a lot while studying. When I commit mistakes, they carefully and patiently teach me, and this is all I need now to improve my English.
What are your fond memories at Pines?
I go to (the) front desk whenever I need assistance. The staff members are ready to give support even though you couldn’t speak English well.
I made friends from Korea, Japan, (and) Taiwan. We became very close. They help me a lot, and we can share a lot of things in life. We can help each other (if it’s about) English. I think that’s one of the best parts of living here.
When I met my roommate for the first time, we couldn’t talk much because he was at a beginner level. I used sign language to communicate things like lunch, dinner, showers, and other things with him. After a month, we can talk a lot; we can share about life. We can hang out, go to the beach and enjoy ourselves. After three weeks of staying here, besides the classes, I have gained many friends, and we talk every day- That’s also one way of improving my English skills.
I am improving my English skills daily, but I have yet to reach my desired improvement. I still have two months of studying here, and I need to do things one step at a time. I will risk my all.
My friends and co-workers asked me about my cost of living and tuition fees. After finishing the course, I will tell them more, and maybe I will make a Facebook post to give more detail about this school- the lifestyle, this city, (and) this country.
